Privacy Policy of copygodmother.com

The Copy Godmother | Effective September 8, 2026

1. Who We Are

The Copy Godmother is a sole proprietorship based in Pennsylvania, United States. It operates copygodmother.com and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

Privacy questions and requests may be sent to admin@copygodmother.com.

2. Scope

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you visit copygodmother.com, join our email list, contact us, purchase a digital product, or obtain consulting services. It does not govern third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.

3. Personal Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. We may collect your name, email address, messages, project details, files, marketing preferences, and other information you choose to provide through signup forms, contact forms, purchases, or consulting interactions.

Purchase information. When you buy a product or service, Kit and its payment providers may collect billing details, billing address, payment-card information, transaction identifiers, and purchase history. We generally do not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Information collected automatically. Squarespace and related website technologies may collect IP address, browser and device information, approximate location, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps, and cookie or similar identifiers needed to operate, secure, and understand the website.

Information from service providers. We may receive transaction status, subscription status, email engagement information, form responses, meeting information, and other records generated through the services described below.

4. How and Why We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • Operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website

  • Respond to questions and provide customer support

  • Process purchases and deliver digital products or consulting services

  • Communicate about transactions, appointments, projects, and services

  • Send newsletters and promotional email where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law

  • Maintain business, tax, accounting, and legal records

  • Prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents

  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and comply with legal obligations.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: your consent; performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract; compliance with a legal obligation; and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the business, communicating with customers, improving services, and protecting legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

6. Email and Direct Marketing

You may join our email list through a dedicated signup form or another clearly described opt-in. We use Kit to manage subscribers and send email. We may use your name, email address, subscription status, and email engagement information for these purposes.

Purchase confirmations, delivery messages, appointment information, and other service communications are transactional and may be sent when necessary to fulfill your request or contract. We send promotional marketing to purchasers only when permitted by applicable law and, where required, after a separate affirmative choice.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included at the bottom of each marketing email or by contacting admin@copygodmother.com. We may retain limited suppression information so we can respect your opt-out. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary transactional or service messages.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Squarespace and its service providers may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to display, secure, and operate the website. We also use Google Analytics and the Meta/Facebook Pixel for audience measurement, advertising attribution, understanding how visitors use the website, creating advertising audiences, and showing or measuring relevant advertisements.

These analytics and advertising technologies may collect or receive IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, referring URLs, interactions, purchase or conversion events, cookie identifiers, and similar online activity. Google and Meta may combine information they receive from our website with information associated with their services, subject to their own privacy practices.

Where consent is required, Google Analytics, the Meta/Facebook Pixel, and other non-essential technologies will not be activated until you make an affirmative cookie choice. You may later change or withdraw that choice through the website's cookie-preference tool.

Where available, you may use the website's cookie-preference tool to accept, reject, or change optional cookie choices. Browser controls may also allow you to block or delete cookies, although some site features may not work correctly afterward.

8. How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

  • Squarespace, for website hosting, forms, security, and related website functions

  • Kit and its payment providers, for email subscriptions, purchases, payment processing, product delivery, and transaction records

  • Google, for website analytics, measurement, and related advertising services

  • Meta, for advertising measurement, audience creation, retargeting, and delivery of relevant advertisements

  • Google Workspace services, such as Gmail, Drive, and Meet, for business communications, file storage, and meetings

  • Video-conferencing or file-storage providers, such as Zoom or Dropbox, when we use them for a particular client engagement

  • Professional advisers, accountants, insurers, or contractors who need the information to provide services to us

  • Government authorities, courts, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

If the business is reorganized, sold, or transferred, relevant information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

9. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data-protection laws from your country. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision, approved contractual protections such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism made available by the relevant provider.

10. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide services, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements. In determining a retention period, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the information, the relationship with you, legal limitation periods, and applicable recordkeeping duties.

Marketing subscription information is generally retained while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we may retain limited suppression information to honor your request. Project files and communications are retained for the active engagement and a reasonable period afterward unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. Payment providers retain payment information according to their own policies and legal obligations.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or sharing; and appeal certain decisions about a request. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection or supervisory authority.

To exercise a right, email admin@copygodmother.com and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to appropriate verification.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

13. United States State Privacy Disclosures

Some U.S. state privacy laws apply only to businesses that meet specified thresholds. If an applicable state law covers us, residents may exercise the rights provided by that law using the contact method above.

We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of Google Analytics, the Meta/Facebook Pixel, advertising audiences, or retargeting may be considered a sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or cross-context behavioral advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged. Where an applicable law grants an opt-out right, you may exercise it through our cookie-preference tool or by contacting us. We also honor legally required browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where applicable.

14. Children

Our website, products, and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact admin@copygodmother.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

15. Automated Decision-Making

We do not use personal information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
